G2 reviews in Slack

G2 publishes a review and tells nobody at your company. Reviewflowz posts every new G2 review into the Slack channel you choose, with the stars, the full text and the reviewer, most of them inside the hour.

Great reporting, painful to roll out

The dashboards answer questions our old tool never could. Getting there took three weeks, and every page of the setup docs assumes you are already an admin.

A G2 review is a document, not a star rating

G2 does not hand the reviewer a box and a star picker. It asks what they like best, what they dislike, and what problem they are solving with your product, then it scores a list of attributes underneath. The result is the longest and most structured thing anyone writes about you anywhere.

It is also signed. G2 verifies the reviewer through a work email or LinkedIn before the review goes live, so the two stars are not an anonymous rating. They are a real person at a real company saying a specific thing about the software your team ships.

The Slack card carries the star rating, the review text, the reviewer's name, the date, and a colour bar down the side so the channel reads at a glance: red at two stars and below, amber at three, green at four and up. Read full review opens it on G2.

The rest of the form stays where it lives. The dislike section, the job title, the company size and the attribute scores are one click away on G2, and one question away in Claude or ChatGPT. The card tells you whether this is a review you need to open now.

Public before anyone on your team knows

G2 moderates a review, then publishes it. Nobody at your company is told. It is live on your profile, in your category listing and on the comparison pages your prospects read, and the first person at your company to see it is usually a prospect quoting it back at you on a call.

Reviewflowz watches your G2 profile round the clock and posts each new review into your channel, most of them well inside an hour. Nobody has to remember to log in and look, which is the part that always fails after week three.

G2 volume is campaign-shaped, not steady. Most G2 reviews are solicited, so they land in bursts: after a review drive, after a conference, in the run-up to a Grid report. A weekly check misses the week that mattered, and a daily check misses the morning it happened.

The bursts are where the damage clusters too. If a release went badly, four of the eleven reviews from your campaign say so, in public, in the same week, in front of the buyers your competitor is also selling to. That is worth an interruption.

Most reviews reach the channel well inside the hour, about three at worst. No review platform pushes a new review to anyone.

The review lands in the channel that owns it

One alert sends to one Slack channel, and you choose which review profiles it covers and which ratings it carries. Set Send to 3 stars or less and point it at the channel where customer success actually sits. Send the four and five stars to the one sales reads.

Those are two different jobs. A two star on G2 is a churn signal wearing a rating, and it needs the person who owns that account. A five star that names a feature is a case study nobody has written yet, and it needs marketing. Neither is served by both landing in the same feed.

One alert can mix profiles, so G2 and Capterra arrive in the same channel if your team already thinks of them as one thing. Require review comment drops the bare ratings with no text. Frequency runs the alert immediately, daily or weekly.

Be sparing. An alert nobody acts on trains a whole channel to scroll past the next one, so every rule is a decision about whose attention this is worth.

One alert sends to one channel, and a channel can receive as many alerts as you like. Pro runs two active alerts per profile, Premium five.

The thread is the record. The answer is written on G2.

Reviewflowz does not publish vendor responses to G2, because G2 gives no write access for them. You should know that on this page rather than after you pay. On G2 you get the alert, the routing, the handoff and the analysis, and the reply itself is written on G2.

The Reply button on a G2 card opens your G2 Review Activity page at that review. The person who owns the answer gets there in one click from the alert instead of logging in and hunting for it, which is most of the delay between reading a review and answering it.

Update Tags opens your Reviewflowz tags inside Slack with the ones already on the review ticked. That is the handoff. Whoever picks a review up tags it, and nobody starts writing a second answer to something a colleague is already on.

When G2 takes a review down, Reviewflowz posts a note in the thread with the date it last saw it. The channel keeps the review's whole history, including the ones that are no longer on your profile, without anyone maintaining it.

This review is no longer on G2. Last seen 17 Mar.

One card, one thread. Everything that happens to this review after it posts happens under it.

Translate the card, in the channel

G2 reviews arrive in the language your buyer works in, and a three star from a German mid-market team that nobody in the channel can read is a three star nobody acts on. Translation here is not a nicety, it is whether the review gets handled or scrolled past.

Translate to is a dropdown on the card. Pick one of six languages and the translation posts as a threaded reply under the original, so the channel still holds one card per review and the source text is still there to check against.

Set it on the alert instead and every notification arrives already translated, before anyone opens it. That is the setting for a channel where reading the original was never going to happen.

Reviewflowz stores the language on the review, not just the translation, so the German ones stay findable months later. Ask for them by language and you get the set, without anyone reading down the whole profile to pick them out by eye.

“The reports are good, but setup took us three weeks. Support was helpful, the documentation was not.”

One card per review. The translation is a threaded reply, never a second card in the channel.

Ask your G2 reviews a question, from Claude or ChatGPT

Reviewflowz ships an MCP server. Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client and ask the thing a Slack card cannot answer: what did people dislike about us on G2 this quarter, and is it the same thing they disliked last quarter?

Three tools. List your review profiles, fetch reviews, get stats. Filter by rating, by date, by keyword, by language, by topic and by whether the review has a reply. Keyword search reads the title, the body, the likes and the dislikes, so a competitor's name in a dislike section is one query.

Stats come back as the count, the average, the breakdown by star rating and your reply rate, over whatever window you ask for and split by week or month. That is the quarterly G2 read-out somebody currently assembles by hand, answered in one turn.

Live, not exported. The server reads your account when the client asks, so a review that published this morning is in this morning's answer. Read-only by design: a client can read and count your G2 reviews and it cannot post anything anywhere.

Can I reply to G2 reviews from Slack?

No. G2 gives no write access for vendor responses, so no tool publishes one on your behalf, ours included. The Reply button on a G2 card opens your G2 Review Activity page at that review, so whoever answers gets there in one click. Replying from Slack does work on Google, the App Store, the Play Store, Trustpilot and Facebook.

How quickly does a new G2 review reach Slack?

No review platform pushes new reviews to anyone, so every tool in this category polls, ours included. A G2 review reaches your channel well inside an hour, worst case about three. Volume comes in bursts rather than at a steady rate, because most G2 reviews are solicited rather than spontaneous.

What does the Slack card show for a G2 review?

The star rating with a colour bar down the side, the full review text, the reviewer's name, the date, and the G2 logo with the profile linked back to the review. Four buttons sit along the bottom: Reply, which opens the review on G2, Translate to, Update Tags, and Read full review. The job title, the company size and the attribute scores stay on G2, and they are also reachable through the MCP server.

Can one channel take G2 and Capterra together?

Yes. One alert covers one review profile, several or all of them, and a single alert can mix platforms, so G2 and Capterra land in the same channel. A channel can also receive as many alerts as you like. Pro runs two active alerts per profile and Premium five.

Do I need a demo to get started?

No. You add your G2 profile and connect Slack yourself, in under five minutes. 14 day free trial, no credit card.
