The one star is the whole conversation

Almost nobody who leaves a one star also opens a support ticket. They write two sentences on the App Store, delete the app and you never hear from them again. The review is the entire conversation, and you are not in it until it reaches somebody who can answer.

It is also public. It sits on your product page under the rating, beside the screenshots, read by people deciding whether to install. A complaint nobody answered reads as a company that does not answer.

Your developer response is the only route back to that user. Apple notifies the reviewer when it posts, and they can change their review after reading it, which is the reason replying is worth doing at all.

So the review has to land somewhere a person will see it today. Reviewflowz posts each new App Store review into the Slack channel you choose, with the stars, the full text, the nickname, the app and the territory on the card.

The widget was caching a day behind for some accounts and the fix is with Apple now. I will update this reply the day it lands.

Release day is not an average day

App Store reviews do not arrive evenly. They cluster in the hours after a release and the days after a featuring, and a bad build shows up as a run of one stars from a few territories before your crash reporter has the sessions to agree.

Reviewflowz checks App Store Connect for new reviews about every two hours, and each one that matches your alert goes out on the next dispatch, on the half hour. On release day the channel has them while the people who shipped it are still at their desks.

Point the release alert at the channel that owns the release. The people reading it are the ones who can revert, hotfix or answer, and none of them had to remember to go and look. Somebody sees the third one star before it is a pattern on a chart.

Apple takes up to 24 hours to show a developer response on the store. Reviewflowz posts it the moment you submit, so that clock starts from your reply rather than from the morning somebody finally opened App Store Connect.

Germany in one channel, Japan in another

Apple files every review under the storefront the customer bought from, so a crash that only hits one locale reads as a country shaped drop and nothing else. The territory is on every card, next to the app it belongs to.

Each alert has a Languages and countries panel. Pick the territories a channel owns and it only ever sees those reviews. Your DACH channel never reads a Japanese one star, and nobody filters anything by hand.

Leave the panel empty and that alert sends the lot, which is the channel head office watches. Same reviews, two channels, two different jobs, and no App Store review has to be forwarded by hand to the person who owns that market.

Each App Store listing is its own review profile, so the rider app, the driver app and the merchant app get their own alert and their own channel. The profile name is on every card, so nobody has to guess which app broke.

Reply from the thread. Reviewflowz posts the developer response.

Every card has a Reply button. It opens a window with the review in it, a box to write in, and a Suggest an AI answer button. Nothing reaches the App Store until you press Submit, and typing in the thread never publishes anything.

The draft comes back written from the replies you have already posted, including the ones you wrote in App Store Connect before you had an account here. Reviewflowz picks the five to ten closest to this review, matched on rating and language, and continues them.

Your reply posts back into the thread under the card, labelled with who sent it, so the next person reading the channel sees it was handled instead of answering it twice.

One App Store rule worth knowing: a developer response cannot be edited from Reviewflowz once it is posted. Change it in App Store Connect if you have to. Read the draft before you submit.

That is a restore bug on our side and the fix is with Apple now. Open Settings, then Restore Purchases, and the year you paid for comes back straight away.

Let a rule take the five stars

A bare rating never reaches you as an App Store review, so everything that arrives has words in it. Most of those words are “good app” or three sentences about the last update. A person reading those is a person not reading the one star.

Reply rules run top to bottom and the first match wins. Scope a rule by app and star rating, then choose: post on its own, hold it for a person, or ignore it. By default nothing posts on its own, and the catch all at the bottom holds everything for you.

Each rule can use its own agent, so the game answers in a different voice from the banking app. A reply the agent posts on its own comes back into the Slack thread like any other, tagged with the rule that sent it.

Before a rule goes live, backtest it. Step the agent through App Store reviews you already received and read what it would have said to each one. It posts nothing while you look.

Wide channel, narrow Reply button

Allow replies is a switch on each alert, not on the workspace. Leave it off on the alert feeding your all hands channel and forty people read every App Store review without any of them able to post as the developer.

Turn it on for the six people in the support channel and the Reply button appears on their cards only. Same review, two channels, two sets of rights, and nobody has to be moved out of a channel to stop them publishing.

Visibility is wide on purpose, because a one star about checkout is a product fact and the whole team should see it. Publishing under your developer name stays with the people accountable for the words.

An alert nobody acts on trains a channel to ignore the app. Filter by stars so the one to three star alert reaches the people on shift, and the five stars go to the channel that enjoys reading them.

The switch is on the alert, not on the workspace.

Read it in English, answer in Japanese

App Store reviews arrive in the language of the storefront, so the Japanese ones are written in Japanese and they are the reviews your Japanese customers read before they install. A one star from Osaka should be as workable for the person on shift as a one star from Ohio.

Pick a language from the Translate to menu on the card and the translation posts as a threaded reply, so the channel keeps one card per review. Or set the alert to translate every notification before it arrives and the card lands readable.

The AI draft is written in the reviewer’s language, from the replies you have already posted in that language. If you have never answered in Japanese it still drafts, and you can regenerate the same reply in another language.

The alert filters on language as well as territory, so the Japanese reviews reach the people who can answer them and the rest of the channel is not scrolling past text it cannot read.

Ask your App Store reviews a question, from Claude or ChatGPT

Reviewflowz ships an MCP server. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client and ask the question the dashboard was not built for: what did the one stars since the release on the 12th complain about, and show me the reviews behind that.

Three tools: list your review profiles, fetch reviews, get stats. Filter by rating, date, keyword, language, country, topic, tag, or whether a reply went out. Stats come back as counts per star, average score and reply rate.

Live, not exported. The server reads your account when the client asks, so a review that landed this morning is in this morning’s answer, and the quotes it comes back with are what you paste into the bug report.

Read only by design. A client can read and count your App Store reviews and cannot publish a developer response as you. Publishing stays in Slack and in Reviewflowz, behind the Allow replies switch.

Can I reply to App Store reviews from Slack?

Yes, once the app is connected through App Store Connect. Turn Allow replies on for the alert and every card gets a Reply button, which opens a window with the review, a Suggest an AI answer button and a Submit button. Nothing reaches the App Store until you press Submit. Apple takes up to 24 hours to show the response on the store, and a developer response cannot be edited from Reviewflowz once it is posted.

How quickly does an App Store review reach Slack?

Apple does not push new reviews to anyone, so every tool in this category polls, ours included. Reviewflowz checks App Store Connect about every two hours and the alert goes out on the next dispatch, on the half hour. Volume spikes after a release and after a featuring rather than on a schedule, so the person watching cannot be the one who has to remember to check.

Can one channel take reviews from several apps or several countries?

Yes. One alert covers the review profiles and the territories you choose and sends to one Slack channel, and a channel can receive as many alerts as you like. Give each app or each region its own channel, then leave the Languages and countries panel empty on one more alert and that channel sees everything.

Does replying actually move the rating?

It can. Apple notifies the reviewer when your developer response posts, and they can update their review after reading it. A fix shipped two weeks later can still recover the star, which is the reason a public reply is worth writing at all.

Do I need a demo to get started?

No. You connect your App Store listing and pick Slack yourself, in under five minutes. 14 day free trial, no credit card.
